SiteRF Privacy Policy
Introduction
Ambient Labs Computing, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates SiteRF. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect: (1) account information you provide, such as your email address and password (or, if you sign in with a magic link, just your email); (2) organization and project data you create in SiteRF, including project and organization names, uploaded floorplan files (e.g. DXF drawings), equipment placements, RF simulation parameters and results, and generated PDF/PNG/CSV reports; (3) limited technical information such as your IP address and browser type, used to operate, secure, and rate-limit the service and for analytics and error diagnostics (see IP Addresses below); (4) if you start creating an account from one of our free tools, the tool you were using, the non-personal values entered into it (for example a frequency and a distance), the marketing-site page you came from, and the website host (never the full address) that referred you, which we store with your account to prefill your first project and to understand which free tools lead to sign-ups; and (5) billing information. We do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves — checkout and billing are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor, and we only keep the Stripe customer/subscription identifiers needed to manage your plan. SiteRF does not currently use any AI or third-party service to process the content of your projects or uploaded files.
IP Addresses
SiteRF receives your device's IP address whenever you connect. We record it in our product analytics events and our error reports and use it for operating and delivering the service, securing accounts and the service and detecting abuse, rate limiting, understanding aggregate usage of SiteRF, and diagnosing errors. Recorded IP addresses may be associated with your account. We also use your IP address to derive your approximate location, such as country, region, or city. We keep recorded IP addresses for 3 months in error reports and up to 15 months in analytics events. IP addresses are processed on our behalf by Cloudflare (content delivery and network routing) and our cloud hosting provider.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide and improve SiteRF, communicate with you about your account or updates, maintain the security and integrity of the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Analytics
The SiteRF application (app.siterfapp.com) and its servers use self-hosted Umami to record product usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which actions, such as creating a project, running a simulation, or exporting a report, are completed) and self-hosted GlitchTip to record errors (the error message, the page address, basic browser details, and your IP address) so we can fix problems. When you are signed in, these events and errors are tied to a pseudonymous internal account identifier, your organization's internal identifier, and a random identifier for your current browser tab; they never include your email address or name, the content of your projects or files, or the values you type into forms. These tools receive your device's IP address when it connects, and our API also passes it along with events and errors; see IP Addresses below for how it is used and kept. Our marketing site (siterfapp.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and the same self-hosted Umami, cookieless services that report aggregate page-view and click metrics (for example, which pages are viewed, whether a free tool's result was copied or downloaded, and how visitors reach our sign-up page, recording the tool name but never the values entered) without tracking cookies or persistent identifiers and without linking visits to your name or email address, and it sends error reports to the self-hosted GlitchTip. Our public RF tools API (siterfapp.com/api) reports aggregate usage counters to the same self-hosted Umami: for each request only which tool was called, the HTTP method, the outcome class, a coarse client category (browser, script, or a known AI assistant or crawler) and whether a hint was shown; it does not record IP addresses, the raw browser or client identifier, or the values sent. Umami and GlitchTip run on infrastructure we operate; this data is not shared with any third party. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Sharing
We share information only with the service providers who help us operate SiteRF, each acting on our behalf and only for that purpose: Stripe (payment processing and billing), Mailgun (delivering account emails such as verification, password reset, magic-link sign-in, and organization invitations), our cloud hosting and object-storage provider (running the application and storing your uploaded files and generated reports), and Cloudflare (content delivery, and, on the marketing site only, the cookieless analytics described above; Umami and GlitchTip are self-hosted by us and are not shared with any third party). We otherwise share information only when required by law or with your consent. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Data Retention
We retain your account, organization, project, and uploaded-file data for as long as your account or organization remains active, and as needed to provide SiteRF, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you request deletion (see Account Deletion below), we delete or anonymize the corresponding personal data and project content once we have verified and completed the request, other than records we are required to keep for legal, tax, or accounting purposes (for example, Stripe retains billing and transaction records under its own obligations) and copies that persist briefly in routine backups until those backups are naturally cycled out. Error reports, including the IP addresses stored with them, are kept for 3 months; analytics events, including the IP addresses stored with them, are kept for up to 15 months (we delete ones older than 12 months in a quarterly clean-up).
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. SiteRF does not yet have a self-service data-export or data-deletion tool built into the product, so to exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] from the email address on your account; we use that to verify your identity before acting on the request.
Account Deletion
SiteRF does not yet have an in-app "delete account" control. To delete your account, email [email protected] from the address on your account. Once we verify the request, we delete your user record and, if you are the sole member of your organization, that organization's data — including uploaded floorplans, equipment placements, and generated reports — other than (a) billing and transaction records Stripe retains under its own obligations, and (b) information we must keep to comply with law or resolve disputes. If you belong to an organization with other members, deleting your personal account does not delete organization-owned project data; an organization owner can separately request deletion of the organization's data. Canceling a paid subscription (see the Subscription Terms section of our Terms of Service) stops future billing but does not by itself delete your account or data.
Security
We use a number of safeguards to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit with HTTPS/TLS, storing account passwords using salted one-way hashing rather than plain text, storing session and refresh tokens hashed at rest, and restricting access to production systems and data to authorized personnel. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe and never reach our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
SiteRF is a professional tool for RF and network planning marketed to businesses and individual professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
