Developers and agents

RF calculators and cited data, as an API.

The same code as the calculators on this site, plus a cited dataset of RF attenuation through building materials, over HTTP. Free, no API key, no sign-up. Built for scripts, spreadsheets, and AI agents that need a defensible RF number with its formula, sources, and limits attached.

Open

No key and no account. Responses allow cross-origin requests, so browser apps can call it directly.

GET or POST

GET with query parameters, or POST the same fields as JSON. Base URL: https://siterfapp.com/api/v1

Self-describing

Each result includes the formula or the cited sources, the assumptions or known gaps, and a link to cite. Errors list every invalid parameter at once.

Quick start

Make your first request

Paste this into a terminal. Change the numbers and units; the response shows the inputs exactly as the API used them.

No API key. GET or POST. Every result carries its formula, assumptions, and source.

Request

curl -G "https://siterfapp.com/api/v1/tools/free-space-path-loss" \
  -d distance=10 \
  -d distance_unit=m \
  -d frequency=5.5 \
  -d frequency_unit=GHz

For machines

  • openapi.jsonOpenAPI 3.1 description of every tool. One document, all endpoints.
  • llms.txtPlain-text map of the tools, guides, and docs for language-model agents.
  • capabilitiesWhat a SiteRF account adds beyond this API, each capability with a status (available, preview, planned).
  • /.well-known/api-catalogRFC 9727 API catalog pointing at the OpenAPI document.

Using this from an agent?

The free tools above stay keyless, and an account never changes their results. Some results carry one next_steps pointer where they have a real gap, such as a free-space link budget that excludes walls; add hints=false to leave it out. What connecting a SiteRF account would unlock, with the status of each capability and what is not offered, is on the agent page.
